It doesn't do that very much any more. Global warming, plus
increasing urbanization. The open desert can get very cold, but there
isn't much in the way of open desert in Phoenix.

Would you care to tell us more? I thought the scientific community is
concerned about changes the order of a degree or two C over the next
100 years -- not nearly enough to cause a person to change their
wardrobe in the next decade or two.

Average changes of even a fraction of a degree worldwide can mean much
larger changes over small areas and over small periods of time. In
general, the more energy (heat) added to the atmosphere, the more
active it becomes, and the greater the extremes that it manifests.

In Paris, for example, the weather has warmed by several degrees in
recent years.

According to the Weather channel web site the overnight lows for the
next 10 days are all below 50. As I type this it's 39 degrees in Phoenix.

Care to make any other unsupported statements?
