FLARM antenna installation
Hi,
I have recently imported a Discus BT into the UK. The glider has FLARM fitted with the antenna mounted under, and parallel to, the coaming. The FLARM installation manual states that the antenna should be mounted vertically. Mounting the antenna vertically under the coaming means feeding it down between the electrics, plumbing and instruments behind the panel. Ive considered mounting it on the shelf behind the spars but that leaves it vulnerable to attack by any other luggage on the shelf. Anyone out there have any suggestions for mounting the antenna wher it won't get blocked by the engine / fuel tank./ instruments / pilot etc. Regards Kevin |

FLARM antenna installation
The reels are for the rope of the bug wipers. But they are now removed,
as they hinder the bailout. I still have to find a solution for the bug wiper reels. Andy schrieb: hans wrote: What are the 2 reels mounted on the left side just aft of the panel? |

FLARM antenna installation
Hi Hans,
Thanks for the pictures, do you find the Antennas for FLARM & GPS sticking up through the coaming to be a distraction? Kevin |

FLARM antenna installation
They are no distraction at all, as the Flarm antenna as well as the
large helix GPS antenna as the as the square GPS patch antenna are form the pilots point of view behind the compass. I have moved the GPS patch antennas now below the instrument cover.
