Hmmm, you sure you didn't go so that you could dig Jim out of the snow?
Get a vehicle unstuck for him or something? Chop ice in front of his
hangar door perhaps? :-)

Jay H - not sure he should mention Jim's recent Florida Keys trip, for fear
of appearing to rub it in.

Jim B - not sure he should mention his recent Florida Keys vacation, for
fear of appearing to rub it in.

So, both men chopped ice, shoveled snow, and dug out Jim's 4x4, in silent
tribute to their friendship. :-)

Sorry, Michael -- more thread hijacking...

Actually, (and I know you won't believe this), we never even SAW Jim's
plane, or his hangar. We just piled into the Burns Family Fleet
(which is what it takes to move two entire families off field to
lunch), and drove to a nearby (fantastic) Italian restaurant. Best
shrimp alfredo I've had in years.

Then, after kibbitzing for an hour or two, it was back to the airport,
to take pictures in the big snow. They've got everything cleaned up
nicely, now, although the street signs partially obscured by snow
piles pay silent tribute to the size of the storm!

Thanks again to the Burns', who dropped what they were doing (Jim was
helping a friend install an engine in a 182 -- I'll bet Jim's friend
wasn't happy to see us coming!) in order to visit with us on a
beautiful Sunday afternoon.

Hey now! How are you going to convince Michael to fly up to OSH with all
this talk of snow and ice?!! Don't fear Michael, I promise that the snow
and ice will be gone by then and the weather during OSH is really quite
nice.

Jim
(not a word, not one single word, you motley crew! )

Oh sure, you expect us to leave something like that alone? All that
snow/ice/stuck vehicles (yes, plural!) in the snow stuff must have
affected your head. Just how do you define "really quite nice" as it
relates to weather at OSH?

BTW, Jim also promises the beer to be cold at OSH (or is that Paul as
the official PMC maintenance crew? I can never remember).

Ohh shoot Jack. I just read where Michael lived in Milwaukee for 7 years,
so he knows about freezing cold, ice, and snow transforming into sweltering
hot, humid, and thunderstorming summers. I just didn't want you to scare
him with horror stories of waterlogged and/or airborne tents.

Michael, if you're missing Wisconsin click here to get over those feelings:

Jay has rights on any airborne tent stories. I can only attest to
getting my stuff really wet in two of three years camping in the N-40.
I have a co-copyright on the "How to get drenched from the Charcoal Pit
to your campsite" story. BTW, it was Jay's fault Michael...never have
him show you the nexrad weather on his cell phone. Hey, that reminds,
me...weren't we all sitting *in the rain* last year, all huddled under
umbrellas as we watched the storm pass on Jay's 496? Man that was fun.
"Hey Paul, we're out of Mike's lemonaid, can you run and get some
more?" :-)

Well, I walked the dog this morning in shorts and a golf shirt, so
I'll leave it to your imagination just how much I'm missing
Wisconsin's weather about now. Still, I used to walk the 1/4 mile to
my mail box in shorts when there was snow on the ground and the sun
was shining. Even in zero degrees. But I finally accumulated enough
snow-shoveling credits to cash them in and move to the southwest, so I
think I'll stay.

Hmm... after this storm I wonder how many credits I have... do I get extra
credits if it's between 2am and 6am rescuing little old ladies stuck miles
from town? But that's a whole other story.

As Jay what he thinks of the Ramp Rat at KSTE...

Oh, I'm sorry. You seem to be running a deficit ...after your Florida Keys
escape.

25 more inches (this year) should just about get you back to even.

How many credits does it take? I'm wondering how many more I need. :-)
