Is the 24Volt system stepped down to 12Volt for the Cig lighter?
Check the auto/aircraft manual for that one. There are not too many appliances that are ready to plug into 24Volt systems. Could always "smoke check" with a cheaper appliance. BT "Dan" wrote in message oups.com... Does anyone know if the cigarette lighter plug that comes with the Garmin 396 can be used on a 24-volt system (assuming it would physically fit) The manual is vague on this. --Dan |

In my 28 volt plane the cigar lighter jack was wired in series with a low
ohmage power resistor. This was undoubtedly to allow the use of a standard car-type 12 volt heater element in the lighter. With a GPS plugged into the jack, I got 28 volts. "BT" wrote in message ... Is the 24Volt system stepped down to 12Volt for the Cig lighter? |
