Seems funny to me that he planned the flight to arrive in the dark.... On a flight like this, wouldn't you prefer to arrive in daylight? One big advantage to arriving at night: land sticks out like a sore thumb because of the lights. But I admit I'd rather end a long flight in daylight simply so I would be more alert. -- Mortimer Schnerd, RN mschnerdatcarolina.rr.com |

Might have a wee bit to do with weather patterns, is my guess. Well, it's a moot point now. He landed a few minutes ago in Honolulu. -- Mortimer Schnerd, RN mschnerdatcarolina.rr.com |

Are you still more alert in the day if you've been flying for 17 hours? Seems like you are usually more alert in the day because you normally sleep at night. -Robert |

I'm guessing that funny looking jog on his flight path must be the result of an error in his position report that briefly put him way out there. Afterwards his path seems to pick up where it was suppose to be. -Robert |
