For me, having a huge color moving map on the panel would let me interpret it more quickly than the small color moving map on a stalk that I use now, so I'd spend less time looking at it. Using a PDA takes me less time than using something like an LNAV or MNAV, and way less time than using paper maps. -- Eric Greenwell - Washington State, USA * Change "netto" to "net" to email me directly * Updated! I can quickly glance at the screen and get the information I need. No more squinting. The pilot is the problem, not the hardware. Jim |

Well, speaking for myself, I suspect that I'd spend about as much time looking at the display as I spend looking at my IPAQ (less, since it's easier to read); and I'd glance down at it about as often as I glance at the GPS screen in my car. When compared to old-school pencil and paper, I believe that tools like this make cross-country soaring more convenient, safer, and dare I say, even more fun. But that's just me. -Bill -- Posted via NewsDemon.com - Premium Uncensored Newsgroup Service -------http://www.NewsDemon.com------ Unlimited Access, Anonymous Accounts, Uncensored Broadband Access |
