Yeah, a drunken old ****head who took pleasure in abusing people (c.f. Highflyer, Sydney, et al.). I wouldn't go out of my way to **** on his grave. You might want to change your screen name. It doesn't fit you. What? Change it back to Walter Wankstain, perhaps? But, do you really expect civilized behavior from a DataBasux cretin? The real LP was grieved to hear of BWB's demise. She's disgusted to think some asshole would use the occasion of BWB's death to try to besmirch her good name and his memory. I noted the posting came from Databasix too and suspected a "Joe Job". But I was not familiar enough with the historical context to determine whether others already suspected the post was potentially forged. Thanks for the confirmation. I tried to use Google Groups to try and get an idea whether the post was in character. Because of the sheer volume of postings, it was only possible to review snippets from the Google Groups archives - but it seems that as long ago as 7 years ago Ladypilot had been a victim of impersonation. Well, she does actually have a databasix account. Could be a froggery, but I have never noticed a reticence on her part to shy away from pointing one out... In any case, it wasn't me... Bertie |

Bertie I suspect K.A. Cannon. Everybody knows Kevin's elevator doesn't go all the way to the top floor. And he's one of Usenet's biggest Rubes so the language and tenor of the froggery fits him. Also Lady Pilot told him to go jump in the lake when he made a pass at her some time ago and he's never gotten over it. Really, it's kind of sad that perhaps the first grown woman in twenty years he's made a pass at laughed and rejected his advances. So there ended one of his very infrequent forays into heterosexuality. And just what does that say about Lady Pilot? She's so hot she can turn homosexual men straight and straight women into lesbians. -- Gregory Hall |

Janice is recovering slowly and with much pain, but she is recovering. I personally am a bit leery of the Lancair aircraft because they don't seem to do well in emergencies. Bill has had engine failures before in pretty hot aircraft and emerged unscathed. This time he didn't. It is a loss to aviation and to this community. ![]() "Gig 601Xl Builder" wrote I never met Bill in person but from my years in this forum I feel like someone I know has left us. Yes, me too. Bill and I had our online disagreements, and we had many good conversations, too. Remember the thread on towing a spacecraft, then slingshoting it, via a "crack the whip" maneuver, using something like a 747 optimized for high altitude flight? What a hoot! It was in discussions like that, that the real personality of Bill came through, I think. I have a feeling that his bark was much worse than the bite, and he was really a fun, soft teddy bear, deep down. Other people's comments about how he loved kids would seem to back that up, also. On the other hand, from what I know about his activities, you probably were better off if he was not really, truely, mad at him. Bad things happen to good people. Once again, the good die far too young. Prayers to his wife. Yep, that too. I hope we will one day be able to convey to her, how much we (even those who never met him) are saddened by the loss. -- Jim in NC |
