So, how much surface wind would be needed for them to use ridge lift
to climb? It depends on how fat you are, how slick you and your suit is, the suit's airfoils, your flying positions, etc. But with best L/D's in the neighborhood of 2.5/1 @ ~60mph, other factors aside It would still seem you would need a pretty stiff breeze... -Paul |
