Are you thinking that JDW was flying at 180kts IAS?

One assumes that tail winds and the like were involved...
Look at the ground speeds on Klaus Ohmlman's logs - Nimbus 4 with
sustained ground speeds in the 300km/h+ range! Same circumstances.
