I am looking for an article from Soaring Magazine that discussed the differences between new pilots and experienced pilots. *It covered an analysis of percentage of time the pilots spent flying versus flight planning, etc. I can't remember the title or author so any help would be appreciated. *Likely from late 80's or early 90's. Tim Ola Tim, I believe the article you seek presented the findings of a French behavioral scientist who applied his profession to his hobby- soaring. I learned of this gentleman's work thru Gene Hammond, who presented these findings multiple times in Soaring Safety Foundation CFI-Glider Recertification clinics. Send me an email privately and I will provide Gene's particulars, or perhaps you can log in to SSA's website and use member locator if you prefer. Safe soaring, Bob Wander |
