In Czech Republic, there exist temporary exemption from fulfilling of
AD EASA 2010-0185-E, based on glider compliance with previous AD EASA 2010-0160-E. Details and conditions on czech civil aviation authority webpage http://www.caa.cz/index.php?clanek=1741&menu=101&mm=19 (in czech language only). Exemption is valid in Czech Republic only, is applied (due to conditions/restrictions) to approx. 1/2 of Czech-registered L13 fleet, and is valid up to 4.11.2010 only. But thanks to this exemption, most of czech gliding schools/aeroclubs are able to finish training saison. For 2011 saison, we all are waiting for LET/AI service bulletin, which will include lot of wording like "eddy current", "approved probe", etc., and will have to be EASA-approved. Hope it will come before March/April 2011 and will be financially feasible. |

That is helpful. All the L13's are grounded in the US. That is
creating a problem with student training. It's also creating money problems for clubs and commerical operators. I think some will have to close operations. Some may have already, although I don't have any personal knowledge.
