If your shop knows exactly where, one or two 5cm round holes can be cut in the bottom skin through which a wrench will fit. A perfectly round hole is a simple repair and you'll never see where it was. Why do you need access? |

My shop also reckons a couple of holes will be needed to allow access by wrenches (though the hope is that bolt doesn't have to be fully retracted). We were hoping that we could find some pictures of what we might find before cutting any holes. |

Yep, I've seen that. The ASK-21 spoiler boxes, like most composite gliders, don't have drain holes for water, which has leaked in around the spoiler cap, to escape. If a glider is to be tied out, it's a good idea to tape some colorful plastic sheet over the spoilers to keep water out. I worry a little about using white wing gap tape to seal the spoiler boxes - someone might not see it and take off with the spoilers taped shut. |
