Frank,
Bravo on another great contest daily reporting. Many of us have really enjoyed reading your reports every evening and wishing we were there racing with you guys (and winning gals). Please keep em coming at the future contests. Very nice work indeed! Not bad flying either - sorry about that early land out in the contest. Bruno - B4 |

It was a tough one - at least for me - as the weather did not cooperate or maybe it is just a lack of flying ability on my part. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our hosts Sarah and Jason who did everything to accommodate the racers and their crews. The same goes for the rest of the volunteers from the CD, scorer to the gate-and ground crews, whithout whom a contest like this would not be possible. One new service I had never experienced at any of the other contest sites was the handling of the gliders between the trailer area and the grid. If you were crew-less (like me) and left the rigged glider with the full tow-out gear by your trailer, the ground crew would move it with a four-wheeler or a golf-cart to the grid! I felt like being spoiled! I would also like to point out that the small hick-ups (like the temporary outage of water, telephone and internet) were not the fault of the organizers or operators but some inept work-crew laying a new water line and every possible thing was done to restore the services quickly. Stuff like this just happens and we made the best of the situation. In summary, the Cilhowee Gliderport is definitely on my list of places to come back to and fly for a weekend!
