Just amusing myself with my new PC and testing if I can still upload.
To keep on topic here is an English F-15 that past below me some time ago.

Fine shot. So you've got to grips with Thunderbird then? It's like
anything else, once you get used to it you'll wonder why you did things
any other way.

I can't say that I have mastered it yet but I'm not going to let the
bugger defeat me. I'm off to sort out X-news now.

Give Pan2 a shot, its very nice for mass-download of Groups with
binaries. It also handles Multi-Part Binaries very well.

http://pan.rebelbase.com/download/

On Windows also Download gtk_for_windows:

Have Fun

You're Welcome,

i use Pan mainly to mass-download pictures from various News-Groups, for
some Poster i created a Rule where to download their postings /
attachments. Also those yenc Postings are no Problem for Pan2.

And the Kill-File is simple but very very effective.

The only thing Pan2 is lacking is a mass-upload (for example: post the
files in Folder X where each posting contains 1 file). But they are
working on it

For normal Postings like this i use Thunderbird, its a bit more
comfortable for writing.

Regards
Jens

Glad you're back, I was really missing your pictures. Hope you like
Windows 7, it took me some time to get used to as an ex-XP user, but I'm
a happy user now.

Yes, I soon picked up Win 7 OK. My only real problem was my 10 year old
scanner and 15 year old printer wouldn't have any of it - and I was just
getting used to them too. :-)

For the scanner, you might check out VueScan (http://www.hamrick.com/)
- this software works fine with my older Nikon Coolscan 4000 on Vista
64bit system. Nikon couldn't be bothered to write 64 bit drivers for
the 4000; they preferred I just bought a new scanner and turned the
old one into a $1000 doorstop...
