Also, my wife Karen is always looking out for me, so provided airport reports, hooked up the trailer and was on the road as a gentle suggestion that I should go elsewhere. Get-home-itis is just as bad for sailplane pilots as it is for airplane drivers. That's why the US contest rules now provide for the safety finish. -Tom |
