From what I can find, the RAF only had one A-36 serial EW998 at Buscombe Down for testing. It was called the Mustang MkI (dive bomber) by the RAF. Allother RAF Mustangs were P-51 variants. Agreed about the A-36. Perhaps we have the same book! The Mustang I did have two .5s below the engine, plus .5s and .3s (or possibly .303s, sources differ) in the wings. -- Peter |
