you could be right about money going to other projects ( i would love to see
more WWII aircraft flying again). It is an expensive plane to keep flying the total they need to raise and keep it in the air up to end of June is £800 000, which could be spent on getting some different planes in the air. This could be its last year of flying its now coming to the limit of the flying hours AVRO ever tested on the frames, even if the modifications can be done to the wings, it might no give it much more flying time anyway if it does work. hopefully money will go to other projects in time and we can get to see other great aircraft fly once again "Netko" wrote in message ... Rather I was trying to point out that a high-profile, high-cost - but ultimately very limited - endeavour like keeping a Vulcan flying will tend to divert scarce resources from other, less ambitious projects in the field of aviation history. I don't mean to sound churlish. I just feel that the sums of money involved would yield much greater value in the long run if spent in other, less dramatic, ways. |
