I've experienced problems with the new google earth and have found an unlikely solution to a couple. GE seems very sensitive to what is plugged into any USB port. If you are having problems unplug everything save your keyboard and mouse. And I mean everything. Then test GE. If your problem has gone away, consider yourself lucky, and selectively replug. Worked for me. And once I'd sussed it out it worked on a couple other computers too --Tom I don't know if this helps, because I run Linux, not Winders, but the version of GE I'm running, 5.2.1.1588, will only accept lat/lon co- ordinates. If I put a place name in the search box it just says "Invalid HTTP request". Fortunately, the combination of Wikipedia and/or OpenStreet Map usually finds suitable co- ordinates. -- martin@ | Martin Gregorie gregorie. | Essex, UK org | |
