Actually, a glider pilot could live quite nicely with the SportPilot/Glider.. Most of what glider pilots do is solo. For slower gliders, the pilot is already legal. For the faster gliders, all he needs is a solo signoff. And, unlike a Student solo signoff, it needn't be limited to 90 days. No real reason why he shouldn't just get signed off for his trusty little high performance glider and glide off into the sunset with it.
