Default Back-up IGC flight recorder

I am looking for a back-up for my Volkslogger. I need something that
will be accepted for FAI records & badges.

Occasionally my Volkslogger gets a high number of invalid fixes.
(recently - 3, 23, 0 , 41, 3, 63) It has a new battery and I have
used this FL for over 10 years with no real problems. Recently I had
a flight with 63 invalid fixes - starting with the take-off and start
gate not showing while it indicated a good start and pointed me on to
the first turnpoint. Today - 0 invalid fixes. I'd love to hear some
explanations. I’ve already heard the sunspot idea…
