route from Amsterdam to Toronto, south of Greenland... Not a close call at all. Looks like several thousand feet of vertical separation. Jose -- Get high on gasoline: fly an airplane. for Email, make the obvious change in the address. |

The B747 has a wingspan of 211 feet, and if I understand correctly the minimum vertical separation at cruise levels is 2000 feet or nine wingspans (1000 feet with RSVM). The KLM seems to be farther away. Beautiful video clip, by the way! |
