http://www.woai.com/news/local/story...A-97BEF9146F03 Man killed in radio-controlled helicopter accident LAST UPDATE: 11/3/2003 4:53:55 PM (Houston-AP) -- Investigators in Houston say a radio-controlled aircraft instructor died when he was struck by a model helicopter. The accident happened yesterday at a park in southwest Harris County. Sheriff's authorities are looking into the death of 41-year-old Ronald Kyle of Houston. Officials say it appears Kyle had been doing flight maneuvers with a model helicopter when he turned the controls over to the student who owns the mini-aircraft. Authorities say the plane apparently went out of control and ended up flying toward the two people -- and Kyle was struck in the throat area. |

![]() "tim" wrote in message Man killed in radio-controlled helicopter accident snip People getting killed by R/C models is pretty rare but not unheard of. A pylon caller was killed a few years ago when a racer cut the corner too close and the model hit the chain link fence the caller was enclosed in. The engine went through the chain link and hit the man in the head, killing him. I've seen and heard of a lot of people getting hurt with R/C models but getting killed.... well, I guess you could say that was the ultimate "bad day." I believe it would safe to say it was that guys time to go.... Cheers, jc |

This last spring a gent here in tucson was killed by his fixed wing R/C. He
was flying at an R/C field by the drag strip. He had given up drag racing as too dangerous. -- Kevin McCue KRYN '47 Luscombe 8E Rans S-17 (for sale) -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |

But it would really suck if it was the pilot's time to go and he took her with him. -- FF |
