![]() Interesting high-speed camera view of a piston intake, combustion, exhaust: http://www.photron.com/video/12.wmv It's interesting to me that the air/fuel mix looks really sparse and not evenly distributed. On that site there's a shot of a diesel stroke and it looks very symmetrical in comparison. I was thinking the diesel stroke combustion was more symmetrical because the heat is more evenly distributed in the diesel. Of course the diesel is from a different angle so that may also play into the result. There are lots of factors that determine how the mixture combusts. i.e. number of valves, the shape of the intake manifold, and lots of others. There are some other neat videos on that site. R.
