A recent article in Aviation Week & Space Technology featured a pix of
a Boeing blended wing aircraft as an Air Force tanker circa 2012. Does a BWA have any design merit for commercial transport? I know one criticism on the BWA design centers on the lack of interior windows. That seems so silly to me. Just what do people in regular aircraft see at night or at 350FL? Moveover, Boeing touts as a *design feature* the extra large windows in the 7E7. Does the blended wing aircraft suggest any improved fuel burn rate over that promised by the 7E7? Also, would BWA derive any advantage from engine thrust vectoring? end of file |
