Minden OLC Cross Country Camp

With the growing popularity of the Online Contest, SoaringNV is trying
a new kind of cross country soaring camp this summer: an OLC mentoring
camp that we will repeat three times (May 24-29, July 25-30, and
August 22-27) to include as many pilots as possible. This will be
your chance to try Minden’s famous XC soaring under the guidance of
OLC veterans, flying your glider or our own high performance ships.

Whether you're a newbie or experienced XC pilot who wants to expand
his range and skills, this camp is for you. We’ve invited experienced
OLC pilots to join us as mentors to fly with camp participants in our
gliders or to give advice and suggestions as you fly your own.

Daily programs will cover OLC rules, tactics, weather briefings and
possible routes for high-scoring OLC triangles. Flights will be
entered on the OLC daily and selected flights will be analyzed the
next morning as examples of what works and what could have been done
better. And SoaringNV's usual hospitality will include barbecues and
banquets along with a collector T shirt and selection of education
material.

SoaringNV’s highly experienced staff will talk about sources of lift,
thermaling techniques and good routes to fly, all in keeping with your
individual skill and experience level.
