Hi,
The ASW 19 in Condor Plane Pack 2 has a bug. One of the instruments does not appear on the instrument panel. The good news is that a fix has been provided and it is easy to install. The bad news is that it must be applied manually after installing Plane Pack 2. http://www.cumulus-soaring.com/condor.htm#News Best Regards, Paul Remde Cumulus Soaring, Inc. |

The patch for that bug came out within a few days of PP2's release... You should take Condor specific problems to the Condor forum before you disparage the very small and dedicated team keeping it alive. http://forum.condorsoaring.com/searc...=active_topics -p |

Within 2 days of the knots ASI issue being discovered OXO patched the plane and the update was released. Hi,
I agree that Uros supports Condor well. But I understand why the customer was frustrated with the Condor developers. The customer bought Plane Pack 2 because he has an ASW 19. He and I asked Uros to fix the ASW 19 instrument panel issue in Plane Pack 2 many months ago. We asked him at least five times over several months to please fix it. He kept telling us that he had fixed it, but he was having a hard time getting the new installation file ready. He never mentioned to us that the fix was available on the Condor forum. Yes, I suppose we should have thought to look there, but we asked him about the fix many times and he never hinted that the fix had already been made available on the forum. I guess that he assumed that I knew about it - but I didn't. If I had, I would have had it on my web site months ago. So I guess it comes down to a simple misunderstanding. I am a huge fan of Condor and sell and support it. Best Regards, Paul Remde wrote in message ... On Jul 13, 7:18 pm, sisu1a wrote: Thanks for the heads-up, I applied the update and it WORKS! Uhhh...righhhtt! So, according to you, a person should take a problem with a "product" (any product) you just purchased to a "forum" of the manufacturer's products versus contacting the seller or manufacturer of said product for "help" or even a flat out return for the money paid? You may have the time, energy and desire to weed thru "forums" in search of a fix for a manufacturer's defect, but I don't. Especially one in which I"m being assured by the manufacturer BY EMAIL that "they're currently working on!!". If the small and dedicated team were (as you purport they are) as knowledgeable about their product and its issues, I wouldn't have had the 6 month back/forth email trail between myself, Paul, and Uros trying to resolve this very glitch. They would have pointed it out at the very beginning, IN THE FIRST EMAIL THEY SENT. They never did, leaving me now to assume THEY didn't know about the fix or that it resided in some "forum" either! That they didn't says less about what actions I did or did not take to try and resolve it and much more about Condor's response to a customer with a support issue.... Condor is a great product, and you'll really like it if you have no problems...but as my case showed me when problems cropped up...they're YOUR problems, not theirs. The patch was issued 1 days after PP2. |

"asw19 speed" or "asw19 asi"? The patch was issued 1 days after PP2. Yeah, amazing isn't it? The happy circumstance is that I'm in good company though...because neither the very well known and regarded soaring merchant I bought the PP from nor the manufacturer's rep he contacted to help with the problem thought to do that either! Guess we're just in a class by ourselves... |
