Default Planeless

Well, I have sold my plane. Coincidentally, it is going to the same place
where I will be doing missionary work -- the Philippines. Perhaps I shall
see it again some day.

It feels funny to be planeless after seven years of ownership. I will be
looking for another plane when we get back in late 2006.

So is it true that the only day in your life that's happier than the day
you buy your first plane is the day you sell it?

No. sniff Absolutely not. They say I will get over it, but it is going to
take some time.

Do what I did: I went to the (empty) hangar and drew a chalk outline on the
floor. Laughter is the best medicine, etc....

I feel your pain, sorta.

Our friends who bought our first plane, our beloved (and much pampered)
Warrior, have sold it to some faceless stranger in a distant town.

It's strange. Even though I haven't owned her for 3 years, I still felt a
pang when I realized I'd probably never see our Baby again. My family had
SO many great times in that sweet plane...

Airplanes come and go, but your mission is apparently beyond this realm, CJ.
You should know that all of us here are somewhat in awe of what you're
doing -- you are, indeed, a better man than me.

Good luck, and blue skies...

Jay,

Why did they sell?

Happy Flying!

Mee too. Why'd they sell?

I remember Brian talking about a kit plane in his(pl) future, don't remember
what kind.

Why did they sell?

A combination of things, really. They're ready to move up in speed, but
they're also newlyweds and are talking about starting a family -- and they
just bought a house, so money is tight...

Life has a funny way of piling on, sometimes.

Good luck over there, Chris. I hope you get some flying in and have access
to the 'net.

Best,
Karl

Good luck CJ, and may God bless your mission and keep you and your
fellow missionaries safe and healthy over there.
