was the replacement for the hurricane (hurricane didn't carry on been developed like the spitfire was hence the last spits looked nothing like the early ones) didn't do well in its trials at high altitude but was excellent at low level so is to be considered as one of the best low level attack aircraft of the war,after a few alterations to the airframe for high altitude its sister aircraft the typhoon was borne

On looks alone this plane gains the respect that makes you want to cross the
road to avoid contact. The only way I can express it is that "it has the appearance of a dull eyed thug". I love this big (and it was a big plane) bruit. |

yes i should have said tempest but didn't realise until i had sent it and
