Claim Check version 1.19 Available Now

After an ill-fated website update on August 30, Claim Check version 1.19,
an Excel-based resource for FAI badge and record evaluation, is now
available at no charge from
http://www.badgeflight.com/downloads.html

Its new feature is the ability to store calibration data for up to 10
Flight Recorders and/or Position Recorders that track pressure altitude.
Claim Check then uses the data to resolve close calls in altitude gain
claims and instances when a duration, speed or distance claim may be
subject to a penalty for excess Loss of Height.

This improvement dovetails with the transition from the Sporting Code's
long-standing 2-year calibration interval to the new 5-year interval taking
effect 1 October 2013. As I understand it - and Claim Check now "knows"-
the new rule applies only to electronic barographs, including those
incorporated in all Flight Recorders and some Position Recorders. In a
nutshell:

(1) any calibration done on or after 1 October 2011 (eg: "current" under
the old rules) will be extended to its 5-year anniversary; and

(2) a calibration done before 1 October 2011 means the 5-year interval
applies to the NEXT calibration, done - at the latest - within 2 months
after a badge or record flight.
