Default Wind Gradient

Looks like surface winds at 6 kts up to 47 kts at 18,000' MSL, all pretty
much perpendicular to the mountains. Hope there's enough thermal activity
to climb into the wave... ;-P

The day was a bust. There were some rotor clouds about 50-50 miles away,
but nothing within range. I stayed on the ground and will try tomorrow.

I have entered as low as 2300 AGL just West of the airport. Usually higher.

higher.

As a rule of thumb look for the height of the inversion, if any. That will
give you an idea of the bottom of the wave.
