If the weather's good I'll be flying for business to look at a project
in Bethany Beach, DE from wings, LOM this Friday. The only public airport nearby is Sussex Co, GED. There are a few private strips that are a little closer. I never flown into a private strip that wasn't listed for public use. Anybody familiar with these private strips, one is called West, and how they feel about outsiders? I'll have someone pick me up and drop me off so I won't need any ground transport. Thanks Dave 68 7ECA |

FYI, I'm based at Ocean City, and Ocean City is probably about the same distance from Bethany as GED, but it's a straight shot up Coastal Highway. I don't know any of the owners of these private strips, and, to tell you the truth, I've never heard anyone at the airport talk about them. I have friends in Roxanna (where West is located), but I've never noticed the strip. Anyway, I just used "Kyler's nearby airport locator" at: http://aviationtoolbox.org/old/nearby_airports.cgi to lookup these fields, and you can get info about them at Airnav... http://www.airnav.com/airport/DE21 for West Warrington doesn't show up in Airnav http://www.airnav.com/airport/4MD3 for Carey --- Jay -- __!__ Jay and Teresa Masino ___(_)___ http://www2.ari.net/jmasino ! ! ! http://www.oceancityairport.com http://www.oc-adolfos.com |

Thanks Jay. You're right about ocean city being closer. My friend
would prefer to drive there than GED. He's not a pilot but he is aware of a local strip closer to his house. I think he's referring to west.
