Default What to get your CFI?

I need to do something to say thanks to my CFI, but I can't think of any
grand ideas. I really feel bad for not having to pay him much for
instruction. I'm going for my exam at 41hrs.

If you think he did a great job, give him a tip. If you can't afford what
you feel he's worth, tell him so.

See if you can find out his or her hobbies and pick up something related. The
guy who gave me my tailwheel checkout was building an Air Camper and into other
types of mechanical ventures. I bought him a socket set, IIRC.

Unfortunately, I'm not old enough to buy the booze, and he's happily
married.

Happily married means that she won't mind another woman in the bedroom!
Not many of us are THAT happily married!

Isn't "Happily Married" an oxymoron? - right up there with "Military
Intelligence" and "Government Assistance"?

Nor here. Frankly, anyone who thinks "happily married" is an oxymoron just
isn't doing it right.
