I have some questions about the FAA Type Certificate (TC). My questions are not about the Type Certificate Data Sheet (TCDS). Typically, the TCDS refers to the TC.
I have never seen a TC. Here are my questions: 1. What does a TC look like? 2. Are copies of the TC available to the public? 3. Is it referenced by the same identifier as the TCDS? I have the same questions about the EASA TC. Looking forward to enlightenment. Thanks. |

Not all gliders have a Type Certificate in the US (as I'm sure you already know). http://rgl.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guidance_Library/rgMakeModel.nsf/0/c65e39afff1d1d778625743b005c49ee/$FILE/G85EU.pdf |

In the US it appears that you are looking for a Form 8110-9, if the following link is accurate: http://www.astech-engineering.com/sy...tcprocess.html I did a quick search and found the blank form, but it wasn't very helpful and I couldn't find a filled in form 8110-9.

Simple certificate with a signature from your FAA equivalent. |

Thanks, Dan. That's the Canadian equivalent of what I am looking for, and I suspect that the FAA version looks similar. I wonder why they can't be found? Perhaps there's only one copy in a vault in the basement in Oklahoma City.

No particular reason. The mind tends to wander this time of year.
