Hi I'm hoping someone can answer a question for me. I'm trying to
install a second monitor (as a surprise for my husband for use with Flight Sim). I bought the monitor, but I haven't bought a video card yet. I have an old (old as in bought the computer in 1997) computer that would have a card--can I use that or am I better off just going out and buying a new card? The computer it will be used on is a new Dell. Is there a way to know which kind of card to buy? Thanks for any info! |

An old video card is next to useless Modern video card like a ATI 9800 has 2 video outlets, so you can use bother monitors. Otherwise forget it |

Hi Kimberly,
I use an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro myself, with two monitors, and that works fine. Make sure one of your monitors has a digital input, though, because the 9800 Pro has one analogue and one digital outlet. As far as I know, you can't use two video cards together with FS9 (but anyone feel free to correct me!). If you're not sure if it will all work, get to a decent computer store, tell them which model PC and monitors you have, and they should be able to help. Good luck, Marc P.S. Sounds like a great surprise for your husband! "kimberlykrogers" wrote in message om... Hi I'm hoping someone can answer a question for me.
