Soar w/ Bob Wander at Marfa, April 9-10-11

Bob Wander, author of many books on soaring, master instructor and mentor to
thousands of glider pilots, will be our guest instructor during the last three
days of the annual Marfa "Thermal and Wave Camp", APRIL 9 - 10 11. Schedule
your flight with Bob as we explore possible wave and probable 10 knot thermals
at this historic site of the 1970 World Soaring Contest, and where "The Sun
Ship Game" soaring movie was filmed.

Thermal / wave window to 30,000' msl. 30+ sailplanes expected for this annual
springtime gathering organized by soaring legend Dick Johnson.

Marfa is in far west Texas, on a plateau at 4,850' msl airport elevation,
between Carlsbad Caverns and Big Bend National Parks.

Major airlines serve El Paso (ELP) and Midland (MAF), Texas. From either
airport, a rental car and a three hour drive into our wonderful scenery will
put you in the artist / writer community of Marfa.
