Contest Liability - Was ELT Use

This ELT thread, particularly the liability issue, raises another question.
What is the liability of contest ogranizers? What happes if the CD calls an
overly difficult task and someone gets hurt? Are SSA-sanctioned contests
covered by liability insurance that will protect the people running the
contest?

Whatever liability a landowner might face, seems like the liability for the
contest officials would be much more.

Our SSA insurance comes in two policies, one to cover things that may happen at
the contest site (about $350) and another to cover the contest organizers
(about $250) At Minden we purchased both insurance policies and I would
recommend that to all who are involved in organizing contests.
