Something like THIS
https://wingsandwheels.com/landing-gear-warning-kit.html works really great.Â* If you're electronically inclined, all the parts can be sourced for a lot less money.Â* The kit, of course, has everything you need at a reasonable price. Buy?!?! Most build their own, sorta simple.....depends on YOU......
No slam, just saying....... I have no clue on "bought systems"....I can only comment on "home brew". I would check with UH and T8 on what they do/did. |

Many higher end varios have provision for gear warning (and that's what I use, just because it's there)... but really, a battery, a beeper and a couple of limit switches will do ya. Really important: the gear warning needs a defeat switch. Some day -- probably on a ten hour ridge flight -- one of your switches will fail or get jarred loose and the warning will start howling in flight... T8 |

My low budget solution ...a piece of wing tape on the center of the ASI with "Gear?" written on it .

UH A really cheap hair clip (2 for $1.79 at Walmart) works well, but it's not the strongest. Anyone have a recommendation for something a little more stout? Chip Bearden |

Many years ago I fitted a magnetic reed switch system to my glider. I glued
and taped the magnet onto the undercarriage operating arm and located the reed in a convenient location. This system worked well. I do not own the glider now but I suspect it is still functioning. Probably would not be allowed to carry out such a modification now in Europe due to EASA rules. Regards.
