Default Day 1 Region 8 Ephrata Wa

Task:
West Start
Peach Rd 10 mile radius
Creston 15 mile radius
Ritzville 25 mile radius
Skysight said the thermals around Ephrata were going to start early and go high.
They did. I went to 9k in the start cylinder before the start and had to fly away to get down to get a start.
The run up North was easy, scattered Cu and they all worked. Up there we took a right turn to go over Banks lake and head east, again great clouds, no fire smoke and good visibility. Then we had to make another right turn and head down south into even stronger conditions, really excellent flying. Booming as they say.
Then... The trip home to Ephrata was in the blue with a major cloudstreet running SE to NW at about a 45 degree line to home. Most flew along this line until they thought they had the finish made and then turned into the blue and a 10 knot headwind. Several turned for home too early and had to go back to the cloudstreet and make it closer to the finish and get up to base again, I was in this group.
Exciting flying today another great task call!

Thanks for the updates. I had a good day with most climbs in the 5-6 knot range and still did 75+ mph.
