"What world record was set in New Hampshire in 1969?"
The glider pilots of Region 1 are working to establish Mount Washington, New Hampshire as the 14th National Landmark of Soaring. We are seeking financial support. For further information, and to find out the answer to the above question, go to: http://www.ssaregion1.org/landmark.htm |

The history section is fantastic. After seeing the amount of detail,
there must have been a bunch of research and effort to put that together. Nice job. The committee(?) also has made it easy to contribute on-line and so I rewarded the effort with a few tax deductable dollars. http://www.ssaregion1.org/landmark.htm On Mon, 25 Apr 2005 15:55:16 GMT, NLS14 wrote: "What world record was set in New Hampshire in 1969?" ![]() I'd like to make a correction to this thread: The National Landmarks of Soaring program is an activity of the National Soaring Museum. SSA has nothing to do with it. NSM's Landmarks Committee is ably chaired by Simine Short. Whenever a new landmark is proposed, a local committee is organized to do the bulk of the work. As has been noted by others, the committee working on Landmark #14, Mount Washington, is doing a terrific job. |
