Problem with some of the club and state web sites is that information is not quite complete. For straight distances, the landing point is not listed. The object of this exercise is to bring Colorado's Milton Award up to date. I have anecdotal tales of many flights, but some happened in banner years, so were eclipsed by epic efforts. Les flying with this group? http://members.tripod.com/~thrift/soaring/psa2.html SSA locator has him living in Prescott Valley. At least three Arizona Soaring Association members have flown to
Colorado in the past five years. Hans Heydrich flew his Ventus B from Phoenix and landed just short of Durango on August 10, 2002 and then flew back to Phoenix from Durango the following day. Both 500 km+ flights. I still have his personal account if you need details. |
