We'll skip the preliminaries.
You know who you are. Windoze provides a facility called "Infotips". You've seen this when you hold your mouse over an entry in Windows Explorer and it shows you the name of the document's author and various properties. Actually, it shows you the information for the doc you copied to use as a template and then forgot to update the author and title, but I digress. Here's the challenge: Implement a shell extension that shows the important info from an IGC file when you glide the mouse over the file name. Not just the decoded IGC name, but the summary info you can easily pull out of the IGC L-records (pilot name and so forth). For details, see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/is...i/default.aspx This could be your route to fame and fortune ! Or free advertising for your nerdship. Nerds, Do not delay. The clock has started. See ya, Dave PS: Bela, I started putting this together before I saw your post ! Obviously great minds... |
