It sounds like a great idea. I would sign up for it today but its not
offered at my local airport. I can't see anything wrong with allowing those that submit to a complete background check to go through "pre 9/11" security (metal detector etc), vs. what we go through today. I've often spent more than 45 minutes waiting in line at airports waiting for all this extra security. -Robert |

IIRC, other than expired visas, the 9/11 hijackers would have passed background checks. |

If you want a perfect system then everyone should strip nekkid to
include invasive body cavity searches, a scan that sees any bad things in their bodies, and complete searching of all luggage, contents etc. That will grind the US air transport system to a near halt. Ron Lee |

You mean like Tim McVeigh, Terry Nichols, Ted Kaczynski, Eric Rudolph... None of them suicidal, I believe. They would attempt to get a bomb on board other than by walking on with it or in any way that might give themselves away. The point being that I think background checks in conjunction with other security protocols re passengers and baggages would be adequate to deter threats from that class of bombers. |
