3 rd engine on 777

Hi all last week at antigua airport i am sure i saw a 777 with a 3 rd
engine on the wing on a BWIA i know they used to carry a 5 th on a 747,
anyone know if this is standard on a 777 to transport spare engine mebe

Why wouldn't one simply transport a "spare" in the cargo hold?

AOG at remote locations need engine changes, an engine can
be ferried externally.

Sure just google for "747 spare engine". It mounts just inboard of the
#2 engine. I've got photos of the spare engine mount hard points....if
I had an easy place to post them I would.

That is the strangest damn thing I have ever seen. Do these hard points
exist on all 747's, or just a few for special use?
