I had asked if anyone knew of a replacement Cessna landing light switch
that would turn on the taxi light and landing light separately (not both on the second pull-out notch so as to ease the electrical load during low RPM). I had given up and was going to take Denny's advice to remove the existing switch to be replaced with whatever I could find, not necessarily certified, that would work. Well guess what; the existing switch had an extra unused post on it. Seems Cessna, in its apparent wisdom, made the switch configurable to either setup. All I had to do was put the taxi light lead on the other post and I had just what I was looking for. Why can't all problems be this easy? |

I guess I missed that post. My 67 182 had a split landing/taxi light
switch. They look just like the split master/alternator switch except they aren't red. You can get those from Cessna or any number of other places. jim wrote: I had asked if anyone knew of a replacement Cessna landing light switch that would turn on the taxi light and landing light separately (not both on the second pull-out notch so as to ease the electrical load during low RPM).
