Over on the Cherokee Pilots Association "Cherokee Chat", a guy has posted
(at my inquiry) that Lowrance *is* still planning to introduce satellite weather to work with their excellent 2000c aviation GPS. This is the second "verification" (from an anonymous source who supposedly "knows" someone -- ha!) I've seen -- so let's hope the information is accurate. As a combo with the 2000c's big color screen, XM weather would be awesome! -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

Did you hear that Lowrance got bought out? They will continue to exist
as Lowrance, I believe, but some company bought them. |

Bought by Norway's Simrad Yachting AS: http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/view.ph...0-121755-7595r And Garmin denied making a bid, though presumably they made an offer to buy Lowrance last year: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/fn/3628002.html |
