I would like to provide entertainment (portable DVD player) for my little
girl on long flights. She has a set of headsets. There are plugs in the back seat to connect to the intercom. What's the best way to have DVD sound through her headsets? 1) I could plug from the DVD into the external music but I'd have to run the cable from the back to the front. Also, I have a 396 and would prefer to use it in the external music plug. 2) I could get her some headphones for the DVD but that wouldn't be too cool and it might let too much noise get by. 3) Plug her headsets directly into the DVD. This doesn't work. Is there some way I can make that work? |

Put ear buds inside the aircraft headset is easiest.
Even works well in noise cancelling ones. Get stereo easily. Bill Hale dlevy wrote: I would like to provide entertainment (portable DVD player) for my little girl on long flights. I think you have a couple choice.
If this is your aircraft you should buy a $15 3.5mm cable and just solder it into the back of your intercom (almost all intercoms have a music input in the back). If this is a rental you could use a portable intercom and just bypass the ship's. Finanlly, you could buy her a nice headset that comes with its own 3.5 mm receiver for mp3, cd players, etc. I've done all 3 !! ![]() -Robert dlevy wrote: I would like to provide entertainment (portable DVD player) for my little girl on long flights. My kid's have done that too. It also depends on if you want to listen
too. During long flights over isolated areas of Mexico I like to be able to hear the music myself. However, my kids often put their MP3 players in their ears under their headsets as well. The only problem with the ear buds is that they don't mute when you want to yell at the kids through the intercom. -Robert wrote: Put ear buds inside the aircraft headset is easiest. B,
Not if they're decent ANR entertainment headphones. Ah, if they were that, they'd have a music input... ;-) -- Thomas Borchert (EDDH) |
