Is anyone interested in saving a buck on a Garmin GPSMAP 295? I purchased
this in March of this year so it's still in warranty. I thought I'd like the smaller Garmin for the plane with the plus of being able to use it in the car. However in my opinion it isn't nearly as intuitive as my King Skymap IIIC, and the screen is half the size. I have the Garmin GPSMAP 295, The Metro Mapsource Metroguide with 16Mb data card (This is the street mapping software) The USB data card programmer, All the original accessories and probably all the original packaging. In addition I have the AC data cable which allows programming and operation from the AC line, and the Garmin training video. I paid $1497 for the 295 with the Metroguide for street operation. In addition, I paid $75 for the USB programmer, $45 for the AC data cable and $25 for the instructional video. This totals $1642 for the 295 which was new the middle of last March. I'd sell the whole shebang for $1200 plus shipping. This is nearly $450 off the original price. I don't want to break up the set, and I don't think I'll go lower. If my asking price is too high, I'll just stick it in a drawer in case my Skymap breaks. Cheers: Paul Anton NC2273H pmanton at nventure dot com |
