Well, Looks like it's going to be about 2 week's depending on when the
tanking is complete and then it's a wait on the weather conditions for the
crossing. I will be departing to South Africa in a PA28-181 I now have 2 1
gig Cards for my point and click and a new laptop to e-mail photos. I will
take lots and lots of photos for sure this time.

"Laptop is running vista with lot's if s/w compatibility issues"

Will keep you all updated....

And you thought that a new O/S would be otherwise? Hell, I still prefer
to run Win2K on my machines due to software incompatibility issues with
WinXP... A new O/S just equals new bugs and new security holes... Hell,
I was just getting used to the old ones...

XP is as stable of a Microsoft OS as I have seen. It seeems to play nice
with everything I have on my machine.

Someone will have to give me some real good reasons to switch to Vista,
other than it is new. I even have a copy available for free, with a
recently purchased laptop, but I'm going to register and wait to install it.

From what I have heard, one of the biggest problems is that there are few
drivers out there, even for the most basic things. I'll wait, for now.

Best of luck with your flight and hope you have great weather and
friendly "officials" to deal with. Where are you going in SA? I
haven't been there in 25 years but stay in touch with many friends -
most of whom are aviation oriented.
Cheers

Ready for the daylight savings change? I'm told that a patch for 2K is not
available.

I think it will be far easier to change my clock twice a year than deal with
Vista.
