I believe that it is actually an Indian Jaguar. The roundels appear to be
orange-white-green rather than red-white-blue. However, that might just be a result of the scanning process. If they *are* red-white-blue roundels, then the aircraft will be a company demonstrator. The RAF has never used Magics. The only way we could tell for sure is if a serial were visible. -- Enzo I wear the cheese. It does not wear me. |

Ignore the above! I should have looked at the other pictures first. This is quite obviously XW563, the seventh pre-production aicraft and the second one built to RAF specs. The first was S.06, XW560. XW563 was originally built with a pointed nose and a tailfin with no RWR fairing. As these mods were added to service aircraft, so XW563 received them, although it never saw service with the RAF, remaining as a company demonstrator throughout its life. It was later converted to Jaguar International standard, becoming more powerful and capable than any RAF Jaguar of the time. -- Enzo I wear the cheese. It does not wear me. |
