It is Gariep Dam. The person in the film doing the briefing is Martin
Lessle. His details are found on the web site above. Each morning is
started with a briefing. Martin and the crew are very friendly and
helpful and try make the visiting pilots as fun and comfortable as
possible. The flying is amazing with the emphasis on safety. The
terrain is fairly wild - especially out to the west - but the staff
provide retrieve service as needed. The focus is distance flying and
pushing ones own goals. It is a fantastic place to fly and meet pilots
from all over the world. I will certainly be back next season to try
better my personal best and try achieve the 750km. Of course, my
personal goals are insignificant compared to some of the visiting
pilots who achieve 1000's on a regular basis when the conditions are
good.
